Book Review: Because I Love You
by Tori Rigby
I found this book over at Netgalley and the summary got me very interested, Andie’s life had gone into an emotional roller-coaster ride ever since she discovered that she was pregnant with her best friend’s child. I was curious about how the lead character would handle such a traumatic incident, but oh boy being pregnant was just the tip of the iceberg.
Remember: One small act of kindness can change a person’s life.
Your gut will never steer you wrong.
And it’s the people around you, those who would do anything for you,
who make your true family.
― Because I Love You, Tori Rigby
Andie is not your typical girl, as a student, she already knows what she wants. She has a good record at school, co-captain in cheering and she dreams of being a doctor someday. I admire her for being strong, and her values are totally in check. One mistake with her best friend got her into this serious mess.
I love how the story emphasizes the value of family, bonded by blood or not. I really don’t think Andie could have strength like that without her mom guiding her all the way.
Well, you’re obviously grounded until further notice. But I think being pregnant at sixteen is punishment enough without me screaming at you.
And right now, I think you need your mommy more than ever. Am I right?

I kinda miss my mom already… I really liked how close they were, and how her mom handles things just to protect her daughter.
Talking about friends who are not really your friends to the Nth power! I think this story covers it. I just want to punch Heather in the face! I mean, how can she stick to Andie for “years” if she hated her… and just of a guy? I mean, how can you ruin a friendship just for a guy? And I don’t want to get started with Carter… cause he doesn’t have balls!
Niel, on the other hand, has a photographic mind that he doesn’t even need to study, he is good looking, very responsible, a good son, he is musically inclined with a very good singing voice and plays the guitar, and he is madly in love with Andie.
I don’t care if you’re pregnant. Blood isn’t what makes a family.

Who doesn’t want someone like that in their life?!! An absolutely perfect book boyfriend… meaning, not real!
Because I love you by Tori Rigby is a must-read. There’s value here and so many lessons to learn. Through this book, I was reminded that letting go of someone you love so dear, isn’t really goodbye or the end. In fact, it’s a new beginning.
I gave this book 4 stars not because I didn’t enjoy it that much, I did, but I think those series of events that Andie has to face seem a little bit of an overkill but aside from that, I really loved this one… SOOO MUCH!
This is a book you can devour in one sitting and find yourself very contented in the end.
