I must say Dark Touch by Aimee L. Salter is indeed very dark, emotional and full of secrets that it kept me reading until the end. I kept predicting what happened to the character but always ended up wrong.

Tully has a secret that kept her from touching other people, because the moment they touch her hand, they feel what she is feeling. Feelings that she kept well hidden because of her darkest past and all she ever wanted in her life was to graduate and move out of the hellish town she is living in.

Chris is a complete opposite of her, he has a perfect family, perfect school records and popular. The first time he saw her, he knows instantly that he likes Tully.

But when Chris touches her, Tully didn’t expect Chris’s reaction to her powers.

This book has got me wondering what Tully and her father’s secret is. It started out with a visit from her Grandma and was thinking why she and her father is acting weird about it. This book kept me going because of wanting to know more of Tully’s secret and believe me it struck me hard when I finally discover it.

The story revolves around a teenager who wanted to escape from her abusive alcoholic father and was involved with the wrong kind of friends. I understand why she is acting the way she does, Tully is a troubled kid… a totally damaged one inside and out.

“It doesn’t matter that we are oil and water, When he smiles, when he touches me, I feel something I haven’t felt in a long time. Something dangerously close to hope.” -Dark Touch by Aimee L. Salters

I admire Chris’s personality and wonder if someone like him really exists in this world. He shows imperfection quite a little but as a hopeless romantic, I’d let this book get away with his paragon.

The storytelling is very good, the plot is truly devastating… in a good way. I liked how it ends with a very hopeful tone despite all the negativities that happened to Tully.

This has been one helluva emotional roller coaster for me. Another one after I’ve read Slammed by Colleen Hoover last year. I was happy, hopeful, sad and broken as I read along from start to finish. All the Bright Places by Jennifer Niven have so many negativity in it and each negativity comes to an equivalent positivity. This book is about hope and despair, it’s about living and dying all mixed up into this simple yet beautifully crafted story. I never thought I get hooked… or get emotionally damaged at the same time. Onion94

It is a story about a girl named Violet who was saved by a teenage nobody called Finch who was compelled by death or the different ways to take his own life.

I really want to give you a summary of the story, just like I’m always doing with my previous review, I want to describe how Violet and Finch met, how they end up together, how they became best of friends, how they fell in love, about their marvelous field trip or “wanderings” but I really feel that I won’t give justice to this book. You must read it to experience it all.

I like the characters so much, they felt real to me, not just a fictional character. Their feelings, each actions to events… they are real. I can relate to them in all different kinds of way. I understand why Violet slowly fell in love with Finch, his character is so beautiful. He is very smart and witty, they both are, and their chemistry is a blast! He always say the right thing to say, he always know what to do ( when he is with Violet…) He is super funny and perfect gentleman. All the Bright Places by Jennifer Niven

I think I’ve got a map in my car that wants to be used, and I think there are places we can go that need to be seen. Maybe no one else will ever visit them and appreciate them or take the time to think they’re important, but maybe even the smallest places mean something. And if not, may they can mean something to us. -Finch, All the Bright Places by Jennifer Niven.

Aside from the story, I was really captivated how this book contains the most inspiring quotes I ever read. It was truly a life changing experience for me.

Your hope lies in accepting your life as it now lies before  you, forever change. If you can do that, that peace you seek will follow. – Violet, All the Bright Place by Jennifer Niven.

It shatters me into tiny pieces, and for a moment or two an hour or two, I felt what Violet felt in the end. Onion81

Undeniable by Cherie M. Hudson

“I wish I could truly hear the way normal people do.
Surely it has nothing to do with the fact I wonder what
his heart would sound like beating in his if I lay
my head on it. I can’t work it out and I don’t like it.”

Undeniable by Cherie M. Hudson is a lite new adult contemporary romance. It is heart warming, mixed with funny scenes and horny bits. Book Review

Premature birth and an ear infection caused Chase to have a hearing deficiency. She is deaf in one ear and partially deaf on the other. She grew up with an overly protected by her father, bullied by other kids, but these never stopped Chase from being independent, a fighter that she is. Written in Red by Anne Bishop Although, these events made her snarky, sarcastic and have an issue about people who wants to protect her just because of her defect.

She was determined to forget a solid heartache caused by her college professor, who made her believe that she is a normal and special girl, only to find out that she was used as a bed warmer, just one of his conquers. Now she is waiting for the Australian Hunk named Caden, her brother-in-law’s cousin to arrive at the airport. A guy who overly in love with her and Chase can’t deny their connection.

Caden is head over heels with Chase. The moment he saw her, he knew that he has to make that girl his. Desperate to show his honest intention, even with Chase always shaking him off and absolutely making a clear “YOU-ARE-NOT-MY-TYPE” impression. Caden is now out to get Chase and make her realize that she is also in love with him. Onion07

I was at first interested in the story, Chase is a very interesting character. She truly is strong, she expresses herself artistically through her body, I visualized her as a punk chick ready to kick ass anytime. But for a deaf who seems to be anti-social, and according to her she hates to be around people aside from her really close friends, she talks a lot in her head. At first, I find her amusing, admire her on how she see things as if she had loads to say about everything, that is not in any way would help the story, I found myself a bit annoyed by it.

She most of the time hates her defect and seems to blames it for all the negativities in her life, her personality evolves around those situations. Perhaps it’s the reason why she falls for the wrong person. I can’t seem to understand why she hates people who (perhaps…) genuinely expressing compassion towards her. Maybe she doesn’t like it or is fed up with it, but I think she can consider thinking that these people don’t usually interact with a person with a defect and would normally act carefully around them. But hell yeah, she can bitch out with the insensitive ones!

Caden, on the other hand, is nothing but a lovesick dog. Onion50Although I admire him being the gentleman that he is and his attachment to animals. He is sensitive enough to always put Chase feelings in everything he does and I give him an A+ plus for not going down easily when Chase wanted to go to the motel and get working.

Undeniable is an O.K. read for me. The author had created the world where we could look inside a person with a hearing deficiency. Made me realize that we should be careful on how we act around them. Sure, we tend to careful but being careful sometimes made them even feel worst. Cherie M. Hudson gives you the feel not just read, of what the character is going through, I specifically enjoy reading what’s on Caden’s head. Undeniable is your light comedy romance for you.

The Air He Breathes by Brittainy Cherry

“You know that place between nightmares and dreams? The place where tomorrows never come and yesterdays don’t hurt anymore? The place where your heart beats in sync with mine? The place where time doesn’t exist, ad it’s easy to breathe?

I want to live there with you.

I’ve always read books that have great story but with not so good ending, but this time I think I finally found my happy ending! Book Review: The Air He Breathes by Brittiany Cherry

The Air He Breathe by Brittainy Cherry is about two hearts finding each other amidst all the pain they’ve been through. Tristan and Liz both have dark past and heartbreaks to deal with. Something you can never recover from.

Liz took off with her daughter and would desperately try to live anew. She refuses to end up like her mother who is constantly having a new man in her life almost every week, just to stop the pain and fill the emptiness with temporary joy. She was determined, even if she is broken, shattered into pieces, for her daughter… she would.

And then she met Tristan, many people warned her against him. He is the wrong kind of person to be with, hell, even just talk with, but Lis saw differently. Tristan is hiding something from those cruel, cold eyes and bad attitude, something she can relate with. Liz understands because she is exactly like him.

“You’re beautiful. You’re a beautiful, broken kind of monster.” – Brittainy C. Cherry

Even with all the warnings, Liz and Tristan can’t deny their connection, they became friends and slowly progress into something more intimate, deeper and then in turn into something real.

The Air He Breathes grab hold of me… literally! The Air He Breathes I was lost in the writer’s storytelling. I really admire how Brittainy Cherry seems to pull each scene with a heart-warming choice of words. I can visualize each character as if they truly exist. It was a totally amazing experience. It is a whole new breath of fresh air  for me.

As a mom, I can relate well with Liz. I admire her for choosing to have a new life and start again for the sake of her daughter. She is strong and a perfect mom even though she doesn’t know it. I find her human enough to see faults in what she does but she was actually doing an amazing job with her child.

“Even when your heart was hurting, there was something so hopeful about reading a book filled with love. The pages were somewhat of a reminder that maybe one day I would be okay again. Maybe one day I would be alright.”

– Brittainy C. Cherry

Not to mention her adorable kid! I really want to meet her in person and hug and kiss her! The Air He Breathes by Brittiany Cherry Emma is the sweetest! I love each idea that Brittainy puts in this book. The feathers, the how she behaves with Tristan. She’s like a little grown up Miss with an attitude and her love for zombies!

“Hey, Mister! I’m talking to you!” she said, tapping her feet. Stranger looked down at her. “You’re a big, fat, giant TICK!” – Brittainy C. Cherry

Tristan is your perfect dream husband and father, but then he can also become your perfect hottie jackass, running away and still grieving about his past. He gives off this arrogant bitchy attitude because he is afraid of being close to someone and was afraid that they might lose them again. His transformation to being his old self again begins when both Liz and Emma broke through the wall he built.

“I love her, Lizzie. I adore her, and there is nothing about her that is baggage. Emma is a luxury. I’ll take care of her for the rest of my life because it would be an honor. Because I love you. I love your heart, I love your soul, I love you, Elizabeth, and I’m never going to stop loving you or that beautiful girl of yours.” – Brittainy C. Cherry

OMGEEE!! The Air He Breathes Don’t you want someone like that in your life? I surely do!  Not to mention the supporting characters. I especially like Liz’s best friend. She is super hilarious! I can’t imagine how Liz can live without her. I love how they bond and I love when there’s no filter around them. It is something real and solid!

The Air He Breathes by Brittainy Cherry is such a heartwarming, roller coaster ride and a mixture of heartfelt laughter and soul crushing tear jerker! Brittainy is one hell of a storyteller! I would definitely look out for her books after reading this one.
